MINNEAPOLIS \u2014 To reflect the ever-changing landscape of college media, the Associated College Press has named 11 finalists in the first year of its Multiplatform Pacemaker competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners will be announced at the ACP Pacemaker and Individual Awards Ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at MediaFest22,<\/a> <\/strong>the Fall National College Media Convention, in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Pacemaker is the association\u2019s preeminent award,\u201d executive director Laura Widmer said. \u201cACP is honored to recognize the best of the best.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pacemakers in Online and Yearbook will be presented <\/em>in spring 2023.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The new award honors the nation\u2019s top collegiate media as they serve readers across the platforms available to them \u2014 print, online, social media and audio\/video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is clearly a forward-thinking Pacemaker award that reflects the new college media ecosystem,\u201d associate director Gary Lundgren said. \u201cWhile ACP will continue to award Pacemakers for individual platforms, it is increasingly important for judges to review how print, online, social media and audio\/video all come together to serve readers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 11 Multiplatform finalists represent eight states. Of the finalists, nine are from four-year colleges\/universities and two are from two-year colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To select the finalists, respected professionals including professors and current digital media professionals analyzed, discussed and rated each entry before selecting the finalists and Pacemakers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
