College students and advisers seeking advice and tips about student-produced media are invited to attend. The multi-day convention will include networking opportunities, informative panel discussions, hands-on tutorials, and access to media professionals. Keynote speakers include David O. Brown of ABC News and former chief of the Dallas Police Department; Hugh Aynesworth, journalist, author, and expert on the JFK assassination; Bob Schieffer of CBS News; and Stella M. Ch\u00e1vez,a reporter at KERA, the NPR affiliate in Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>The event will cover all aspects of college media, from rapidly changing multimedia platforms to newspaper, broadcast, yearbook and magazine journalism. Students will also benefit from career-focused sessions with guidance on life after graduation. Advisers will be offered special programming focused on their specific challenges.<\/p>\n<p>There will be more than 275 sessions at the event, with speakers from The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Mavericks, the Houston Chronicle, the Newseum, the Student Press Law Center, the Society of Professional Journalists, and colleges and universities across the country, to name just a few.
