Sept. 20, 2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 523 designs submitted from 38 states and Canada, judges selected 70 finalists in the Associated Collegiate Press 2019 Design of the Year competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten finalists have been selected in seven different categories \u2014 newspaper front page, newspaper inside page\/spread, magazine cover, magazine page\/spread, yearbook page\/spread, infographic and illustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With an emphasis placed on packaging verbal and visual content in a reader-friendly way, the finalists demonstrate creativity with typography, white space and color,” Gary Lundgren, associate director and contest coordinator, said. “Design is definitely playing a key role in the evolution of print publications.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the finalists will be recognized and the winners announced for the first time at the ACP\/CMA National College Media Convention<\/a><\/strong>,<\/a> Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2019, in Washington, D.C., on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First- through fifth-place winners will be announced in each category with the designers receiving plaques. Five honorable mention winners will receive certificates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finalists are showcased below in alphabetical order by state.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
