Sept. 20, 2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 798 images submitted by collegiate photographers from 37 states and Canada, judges selected 50 finalists in the Associated Collegiate Press 2019 Photo of the Year competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten finalists have been selected in four different categories \u2014 general news photo, breaking news photo, feature photo, sports photo and environmental portrait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These images tell remarkable visual stories,” said Gary Lundgren, associate director and contest coordinator. “By adding impact and realism, quality photojournalism takes storytelling to the next level.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the finalists will be recognized and the winners announced for the first time at the ACP\/CMA National College Media Convention<\/a><\/strong>,<\/a> Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2019, in Washington, D.C., on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First- through fifth-place winners will be announced in each category with the photographers receiving plaques. Five honorable mention winners will receive certificates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finalists are shown below in alphabetical order by state.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
