National Scholastic Press Association offers exceptional opportunities for sponsors to engage with NSPA members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who sponsors NSPA events? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Companies with goods and services for student-media groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational institutions marketing to attendees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizations seeking to connect with student journalists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Headlining our events<\/a><\/strong> are two national conventions. The Fall National High School Journalism Convention <\/strong>and the Spring National High School Journalism Convention<\/strong> are the nation\u2019s largest gatherings of scholastic journalists and their advisers and teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both are sponsored with NSPA\u2019s partner, Journalism Education Association,<\/a><\/strong> the nation\u2019s largest organization of journalism teachers and advisers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fall convention, typically in November, has more than 5,000 attendees, and the spring convention, typically in April, more than 3,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Convention sponsors can connect with attendees through our vibrant convention trade shows, and our social-media outreach can expand that connection even further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Convention programming consists of dozens of on-site instructional sessions and critiques. Each convention reaches a crescendo with NSPA\u2019s awards presentations,<\/a><\/strong> including the prestigious Pacemaker Awards, Individual Awards and a convention Best of Show competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to COVID-19 in April 2020, NSPA presented its popular awards program \u2014 “Live from Minneapolis”<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 with a recorded presentation that drew hundreds of viewers. Sponsors who invested in commercials shared messages of encouragement and support, and those messages will resound as the presentation will be played back during instructional sessions during the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NSPA also serves its membership with each summer\u2019s Gloria Shields\/NSPA Media Workshop.<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop, in late June-early July, has served about 600 student journalists advisers when the workshop is on site. The summer 2020 workshop will broaden its outreach to students and advisers through virtual instruction, coaching and consultation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
