NSPA Best of Show<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The NSPA Best of Show competition, a popular offering at the JEA\/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention, will be offered for all student media outlets attending the Philadelphia Storytelling Workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff attending the in-person Philadelphia event may also enter the NSPA Best of Show competition for the virtual JEA\/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separate entry fees are required for each competition. The contest fee is $30 per entry for NSPA members<\/strong> and $45 per entry for nonmembers<\/strong>. Best of Show entries are purchased online when registering for the Philadelphia Storytelling Workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline for submitting Philadelphia Best of Show entries is noon ET Friday, Nov. 12. Bring entries to the workshop registration at the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following Best of Show categories are offered in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newspaper\/Newsmagazine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schools may enter one regular edition of their newspaper\/newsmagazine. Enter the most recent issue of newspaper\/newsmagazines, published between Aug. 1, 2021, and the contest deadline. To enter, bring one print copy to the conference registration desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Website<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An online news website actively updated throughout the current school year. To enter, bring the URL to the conference registration desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Broadcast News Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entries consist of a single broadcast news program aired between Aug, 1, 2021 and the contest deadline. Entries must be submitted via a direct URL (i.e., a YouTube or Vimeo link). The news program must be housed on a site or channel owned by a school student media outlet and not a personal site or channel. To enter, bring the URL to the conference registration desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Literary Arts Magazine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submit the most recent issue.To enter, bring one print copy to the conference registration desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yearbook<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 yearbook should be submitted. To enter, bring one print copy to the conference registration desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NSPA on-site media critiques<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Staff members and advisers will sit down with an experienced adviser or professional journalist and review their student media. Critique sessions are 25 minutes and provide a one-on-one opportunity for students and advisers to ask questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Critiques cost $30 each and are purchased online when registering for the Philadelphia Storytelling Workshop. After you purchase the critique, NSPA will reach to schedule the critique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Register for an on-site media critique through your conference registration. The deadline is at 11:59 p.m. Central Nov. 5.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
