The association started presenting the prestigious award to high school newspapers soon after the organization was founded in 1921. This year, NCHS Live! used social media to bring attention to important topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October, NCHS Live! focused on micro-aggressions by highlighting a different student\u2019s experience each day with 21 \u201cDear World\u201d posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, NCHS Live! Cares launched a five-month series on mental health, focusing on a different topic each month with content delivered daily. Resources were provided on the website. The reporting culminated in May with a special edition of the print newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ladue Publications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladue Horton Watkins High School<br>St. Louis, Missouri<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student leadership: Mac Huffman, Rory Lustberg, Annie Zhao<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advisers: Abigail Eisenberg, Sarah Kirksey<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Talon is serving its school with an inclusive yearbook program that transcends traditional boundaries and fosters unity as students with and without disabilities work together. The journalists (four students in special education), collaborate with their assistants (four general education students), to report the school year on the pages of the Talon. The collaboration extends to training sessions where all the students learn together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student response to an \u201cInside Identity\u201d section published in Panorama magazine covering teen identity ranging from race to gender inspired the creation of \u201cID\u201d \u2014 an in-depth magazine reporting on the personal stories of student and staff identity. The first issue of <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/laduepublications.com\/id\/\" target=\"_blank\">ID Magazine<\/a><\/strong> was published in January 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Talon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lincoln Southwest High School<br>Lincoln, Nebraska<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student leadership: Staff<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adviser: Brandi Benson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Talon is serving its school with an inclusive yearbook program that transcends traditional boundaries and fosters unity as students with and without disabilities work together.
