{"id":4864,"date":"2017-03-08T09:07:24","date_gmt":"2017-03-08T15:07:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/studentpress.org\/nspa\/?p=4864"},"modified":"2017-03-09T14:45:52","modified_gmt":"2017-03-09T20:45:52","slug":"2017-online-pacemaker-finalists-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/studentpress.org\/nspa\/2017-online-pacemaker-finalists-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"2017 Online Pacemaker finalists announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MINNEAPOLIS \u2014 The National Scholastic Press Association has recognized 38 online news sites as finalists in the 2017 Online Pacemaker competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Pacemaker is the association\u2019s preeminent award and is often called the Pulitzer Prize of scholastic journalism,\u201d said Laura Widmer, executive director. \u201cNSPA is honored to recognize the best of the best.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To select the 38 winning online sites, judges carefully studied the 180 Pacemaker entries. Each site was analyzed and discussed by a team of judges. Entries were judged in two size categories based on student enrollment \u2014\u00a0less than 1,500, or 1,500 or greater.<\/p>\n<p>The 38 finalists represent 15 states.
