Plan to attend the world’s largest gathering of college media students and their advisers this year in Austin, Texas.

The Fall National College Media Convention takes place Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2015 at the Hilton Austin Hotel.

The Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Association are preparing 300+ sessions covering all aspects of college media. Get hands-on training at one of eight pre-convention workshops. Sign up for anon-site critique, meet a professional in residence, take part in an Austin photo shootout and on-siteTV/radio broadcast and radio studios.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND TOPICS INCLUDE …

Activism and Journalism: Meet Anthony Graves, imprisoned in 1992, put on death row in 1994 and exonerated in 2010; University of St. Thomas journalism professor Nicole Cásarez, whose undergraduates began investigating his case; Texas Monthly executive editor Pamela Colloff and Houston Chronicle columnist Lisa Falkenberg, recipient of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize in Commentary.

Ken Herman: Austin American-Statesman columnist and one of the youngest Pulitzer prize recipients.


The most prestigious honor in collegiate journalism, the Pacemaker, will be awarded on Saturday, Oct. 31for newspaper, online, yearbook and magazine.

ACP will also present individual awards: Story of the Year, Reporter of the Year, Photo Excellence, Design of the Year, Cartooning and Advertising.

CMA will present its Pinnacle awards on Friday, Oct. 30.

Guest rooms at the Hilton Austin Hotel’s discounted convention rate of $199 plus tax are limited. Please do not overbook guest rooms and drop them at the last minute. Doing so may result in severe financial penalties being charged to ACP and CMA.
