Magazine Pacemaker finalists announced

Congratulations to the 2016 Magazine Pacemaker finalists!

Magazine Pacemaker judging, which took place at MSP-Communication’s office, was a tedious process. Many entries stood out with high-quality design and content. The three judges started with 96 entries and narrowed them down to 22 finalists.

Judges looked for strong covers — ones with eye-catching photography, sharp design, personality and intrigue. Simple, clean design went a long way, as did professionalism. One of the judges said several entries were so excellent they could imagine them sitting on retail shelves among other professional magazines.

Judges looked for magazines that knew their readers. As stated for one finalist, “They really know their audience. The content and design is intentional and well executed.” It was important to have a clear vision maintained throughout the entire work.

Winners will be announced at the Associated Collegiate Press National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C.
