Associated Collegiate Press is seeking nominations for its 2023 Pioneer Award, the only award ACP presents to journalism educators. 

Pioneers are distinguished journalism advisers, educators and advocates who have provided exceptional leadership for collegiate media programs and made exceptional contributions to collegiate journalism and to the association in its service.

The inaugural class of ACP Pioneers was honored in October 2023, at the Fall National College Media Convention, in Washington, D.C. The Pioneer Awards and ACP’s Pacemaker 100 were highlights of the association’s centennial celebration.

The 2023 Pioneers will be recognized at this fall’s national convention, Oct. 29-Nov. 2, in Atlanta.

These educators and journalists have been supportive of ACP and believed in our mission of training and honoring collegiate journalists. They have gone above and beyond their own distinguished careers to nurture the future of journalism.

A five-person panel of two board members and three past Pioneer winners will select the next class.

To nominate or self-nominate, please send a letter, résumé/vita and up to five paragraphs regarding the nominee’s influence upon student media and ACP.
