Washington Post opens 2025 summer internship application

The Washington Post has opened applications for its 2025 Newsroom Internship Program. The program is open to college juniors, seniors and graduate students who are enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline, which is Oct. 4. 

The internship program runs for 10 weeks, tentatively from June 9 through August. 15, 2025, and is based out of the paper’s Washington, D.C. newsroom. 

Interns will be paid 1,021.15 a week and will work alongside full-time staff members. The roles available are reporter, general assignment news desk, visual journals, copy editor, news and digital designers, graphics reporters and developers, audio producers, data reporters and audience strategy editors.
