Diana Mitsu Klos will step down as director of the National Scholastic Press Association/Associated Collegiate Press effective June 15th, 2016.
NSPA’s board president, Dr. Albert Tims, said, “It has been a privilege to work with Diana. Her admirable professionalism, integrity and commitment to NSPA’s mission are hallmarks of her leadership.”
“My successor will take over a dynamic association that has made significant progress in serving the high school and college journalism communities,” Klos said. “I have loved my time with NSPA/ACP and everyone associated with it. However, this leadership position requires someone who can commit to living in the Twin Cities region full time, which unfortunately I cannot.”
NSPA’s Board of Directors will invite associate director Laura Widmer to serve as interim executive director and will launch an immediate national search for a new executive director.
NSPA and its divisions cooperate with student media associations and non-student groups and businesses that share its mission to educate and recognize the work of student journalists, to improve the quality of student media and to foster careers in media.
