Feb. 2, 2021
Congratulations to the winners of the inaugural semester of the ACP Clips & Clicks contest — and to the schools competing for this year’s Sweepstakes.
The competition, open to all ACP members, honors current work among student journalists, and the fall-semester winners encompass work produced from Aug. 1-Dec. 28, 2020.
There were 354 submissions in the fall competition, with 27 colleges and universities winning places.
“The judges consistently said they were very impressed with the quality of the entries submitted,” associate director Gary Lundgren said. “The Clips & Clicks competition is new for ACP, and it is clear this is going to be a very popular contest going forward.”
Judges were collegiate professors, collegiate student media advisers and professional journalists.
The numbers of winners in each category was determined by the judges based on the quantity and quality of the entries. When calculating Sweepstakes, we assign these points:
First Place: 10
Second Place: 9
Third Place: 8
Fourth Place: 7
Fifth Place: 6
Honorable mention: 5
Single entries in Broadcast: Sports Story and in Broadcast: Commentary will compete in the spring contest. No entries were received in Design: Yearbook Spread.
Here are the top 12 schools going into the spring competition.
When spring results are added in June, we’ll announce the winner of our Clips & Clicks Sweepstakes trophy.
