Sept. 12, 2023

MINNEAPOLIS — National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA), the largest and oldest national membership organization for high school student media in the United States, announces a strategic partnership with Issuu to benefit high school media outlets.

Issuu, the world’s largest SaaS content publishing and marketing platform, helps people grow their businesses and inspire their audiences by transforming static designs into high-performance content for every digital marketing channel. With this partnership, Issuu will grant NSPA members free access to the Issuu Starter Plan, enabling users to publish unlimited documents of up to 500 pages per upload or 100MB of file size. This plan includes fullscreen sharing links, easy embedding of digital publications onto a website, and access to basic statistics. NSPA members already using Issuu will retain access to their existing publications during the plan transition.

“I know the importance of Issuu to our high school community,” says Laura Widmer, NSPA Executive Director. “I am excited to be working with them. Their mission aligns with the needs of high school media. They are dedicated to building and delivering a self-service platform with all the tools our members need to convert static documents into dynamic content within a seamless workflow.”

With this partnership, Issuu has shown its commitment to high school media.

“It’s fantastic to see an industry leader offer their product free to our members,” Widmer adds. “Issuu will also have a presence at high school media events throughout the year.”

For journalism program advisers, yearbook staff, academic editorial teams, professors and students, Issuu is the all-in-one digital publishing platform that elevates the way people communicate and make an impact with their digital content. The platform transforms flat documents into interactive flipbooks with multimedia elements such as links and videos, as well as other engaging format types, and its intuitive sharing capabilities ensure content reaches its intended audience. From lesson plans to research papers, Issuu has the tools to make content dissemination easy, efficient, and engaging. “At Issuu, we deeply value the power of knowledge and the people behind it,” says Joe Hyrkin, CEO of Issuu. “Strong independent journalism is part of the bedrock of democracy. Student journalism is a major training ground for journalists and is increasingly taking over the role of important local investigative reporting. Our partnership with the National Scholastic Press Association reflects our shared vision of accessible and engaging content. We’re committed to providing an intuitive, self-service platform filled with best-in-class content creation, transformation, and distribution tools. Our mission is harmoniously aligned with the needs and pursuits of high school media: to amplify every voice.”
