MINNEAPOLIS — From in-depth news stories to editorial cartoons, Associated College Press will be naming 370 finalists in its 2019 Individual Awards, representing roughly 10 percent of overall entries.
“In every category, the number and the quality of the entries increased from last year,” Gary Lundgren, associate director and contest coordinator, said.
The overall number of entries increased by about 8 percent over the previous year. Approximately 3,400 entries were received in 39 award categories. In 2018, the contest was updated with new categories, including new digital journalism competitions.
All the finalists will be recognized and the winners announced for the first time at the ACP/CMA National College Media Convention, Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2019, in Washington, D.C. on Saturday afternoon.
